Hirooka

This is a picture I took from the roof of our dorm, Shoen Seiwaso. You can see most of Hirooka. But what you can't see are the mountains in the distance.

Bansai tree store

This is a picture of the bansai tree store across the street from our dorm. I have often wondered how a store like this stays in business.

View from room

This is the view I used to have from my dorm window. They have since begun construction on the first floor and had to build a trailer command center right outside my window. Now I fall asleep to the soft blinking lights of a vending machine not 15 feet away.

Matsumoto

This is the part of Matsumoto I see every morning as I step out of the train station. Usually this courtyard is full of people handing out free tissue packs covered with ads, who never seem to give any to the white guy.

Colonel Sanders

Now why would anyone rough up the Colonel like this? He's given us so much, and asked for so little.

Ryan and Chris

Ryan and me looking thoughtful in the London Pub in Tokyo.

Farewell dinner

The farewell dinner we had at the Italian restaurant for the Filipino co-ops being transfered to the remote corners of Japan.

Shirley and Chris

Shirley, one of the departed Filipinos and myself at Karaoke. I'm still sunburnt from the flash used for this picture.
