Potassium Benzoate

This weekend is a 4-day weekend. That's good!

All my friends will be gone to visit their families. That's bad!

I'll be able to get a lot of stuff done. That's good!

It will probably mean going in to work this weekend. That's bad!

There will be a parade on Friday. That's good!

The parade celebrates the rape of the Native American culture. ...Um can I go now?

Okay, at the time the first Thanksgiving was celebrated, the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag were on friendly terms (hence their sitting down together). So the parade doesn't celebrate the rape of Native American culture, it ignores it. Not that that is any better, but still.

I was just practicing my leftist rhetoric.

Native Americans should just grow up and deal with the way things are now. Everybody who was ever oppressed should just get over it. As far as I'm aware, no one is being oppressed now so, no more parades or restitution money or tax-free reservations. If we ignore the past, maybe in a few years the terms racism and oppression won't be in our vocabulary.

Ian,
Exactly! History has caused nothing be problems for our generation. I suggest we pass a law prohibiting the learning of the past. Good for nothing yesterday, that's what I say!

Mark, I completely agree. As do most American legislators, if the standarized testing (math/english) tell us anything.
