Chris Lyon

or: How I learned To Stop Worrying And Love Japan

Chris Lyon is currently a student at the University of Waterloo studying Honours Computer Science. He is in his third year, and is enrolled in the co-op program. Don't get any wrong ideas about Chris Lyon just because he's in computers. He has a very colourful and exciting social life and lots of friends, like you for example. Unless, of course, you're related to him, or you were hired to shut down this web site. Maybe you're a stranger who was doing a research project on the fine Japanese city of Matsumoto, or an investor interested in AISoft. Maybe you're Chris Lyon himself, reading his own page to feel important.

Chris Lyon was offered a year-long Co-op experience in Matsumoto, Japan programming for the software company AISoft. He jumped at the opportunity, only to find fate had a different plan in store for him. His visa application was lost in the mail, and while he waited for a replacement to be sent, the other two chosen students were happily moving in and enjoying the Japanese culture (women).

To ease the boredom and financial burden of staying at home for a month, Chris Lyon got a job at Canada Central Foods as a meat packer. Although not directly related to his true love, computer programming, Chris Lyon enjoyed his three-week stint there and recommends Canada Central's Choice-Pak Cottage Rolls, available at a Price-Choppers near you!

On October 10, 2000, Chris Lyon left for Matsumoto and will not be seen again in Canada until September 2001. When he returns, Canada may be a very different place. A federal election will have taken place, the Lyon family will have moved from the ghettoes of Caledon to the open fields of Brampton, Québec will have seperated from Canada to form a new military and economic powerhouse the world has not seen since the Roman Empire.

Until his return, keep that eternal flame burning, continue preparing burnt offerings to sacrifice to his graven image, and most importantly, visit his website at www.cplyon.ca!!!
