Restricted Items List
Anyway. Things seem to be winding down around here. I got an envelope in my mailbox today containing instructions on how to ship some of my larger possessions (bicycle) home, at Microsoft's expense. There's a Restricted Items List that outlines what objects and substances I'm not allowed to ship home. These things include (but not limited to):
- Alcohol: ok, that's understandable.
- Cologne or perfume: because if one of the shipping guys breaks it and spills some perfume on himself, his wife will think he's cheating on her with that floozy of a receptionist.
- Pornography: this one I don't get. Who cares if you have an issue of Juggs packed away in box? Then again, there's probably a reason it's on this list. Maybe the some guy used a dirty magazine to wrap his package.
- Firearms: Ever since Sept 11, they've really been cracking down on people shipping bombs across the country.
- Ivory: Oh shit! Now what am I going to do with the 30 lbs of raw ivory I just bought! I wonder what people who bought pianos are supposed to do?
I will be shipping by bike and possibly some boxes of discounted software. Yay employee discounts!
